School Overview

Bayview Secondary College is a co-educational government school located in Rokeby, on the eastern shore of Hobart, Tasmania. Bayview Secondary College has around 175 students in Years 7-12.
In 2016 the school capitalised on a major re-development of the Science area to integrate facilities for Science and Technologies, creating a contemporary STEAM precinct.

Problem / Challenge

Energy security is a major global issue. In recent times
areas of Australia, including Tasmania and South Australia, have experienced issues relating to energy dependability and production.

How can Bayview College be energy independent in the
face of a power crisis?

Brief

In teams, your task is to design a model of a renewable energy generator (e.g. wind turbine) complete with a demonstration video and an instruction manual.
