School Overview

Lansdowne Crescent Primary School is a government school catering for over 400 students. It is situated in the suburb of West Hobart, in Tasmania’s capital city. The school enjoys a view over the city to the Derwent estuary and eastern shores of Hobart.

Problem / Challenge

Australia is in the grip of an energy crisis. South Australia lost power for a day completely in 2016. Tasmania’s water levels in dams were at an all-time low in 2015.

Brief

Design, make and market a working prototype of an installation to be used in our school garden which uses renewable energy.
